Accessibility statement

Last updated 23 September 2026

This site is built to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, and I check it before every release. If something here gets in your way, email me at [email protected] and I will put it right.

The standard I build to

WCAG 2.1 at level AA. That covers colour contrast, keyboard access, text that resizes, and pages that still make sense when they are read aloud rather than looked at.

What I check before anything goes live

  • Every colour pairing meets AA contrast, 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text, worked out with numbers rather than judged by eye
  • Every image carries alt text, and a check before each release flags any image missing one
  • Headings run in order, with one main heading per page
  • Every page fits a 360 pixel phone screen with no sideways scrolling
  • Keyboard focus stays visible as you move through a page, and a skip link jumps straight to the main content
  • Animation respects your system setting for reduced motion
  • Both languages are marked up so a screen reader announces them correctly
  • The cookie banner offers Reject as plainly as Accept, and you can change your mind from the footer of any page

The most recent automated test covered thirteen pages at both desktop and phone widths, against WCAG 2.1 levels A and AA, and found no failures.

Where there is room to improve

Automated testing catches part of the picture and never all of it. I have not commissioned an independent audit, and I have not tested every combination of screen reader and browser. If you use an assistive technology and something behaves oddly, telling me is the quickest route to a fix.

Telling me about a problem

Email [email protected] with the address of the page and what happened. I read every message myself and reply within one working day. Write in French if you would rather.
